Flying over the internet last year, I came across a crowdfunding which retained my attention for some reasons, namely the project was being launched by a young man, Nikolay Lamm. I think that young people who have a strong desire to go forward need to be encouraged and helped. Also, in the world we live in, so many items have to be kept to standards. We see all sort of things which are so unrealistic and belong to utopia… One must keep his feet on earth and move forward along the “reality road”…
Without hesitation, I supported Nikolay Lamm’s project. Here are his words concerning the crowdfunding, this was in March 2014 :
“When I released Lammily crowdfunding on March 5th, I could not have predicted such an overwhelming response. Now, with another eight days to go, more than 13,000 backers have preordered over 17,000 dolls. First and foremost, I want to say thank you to everyone who has made the Lammily campaign a success.”
Nikolay adds :
“The foundation of Lammily is built on being true to yourself in a world that pressures you to conform to standards. I believe an entire world, with interactive resources, accessories, and clothes can be built to allow kids to find their own path.
When you look at the current fashion doll market, you see it dominated by divas, princesses, and mermaids. You also see a lot of different careers, which these dolls promote, and I applaud them for that. However, what about the real steps you must take to achieve your dreams? I believe that one of the hardest things in life is to find your own path, something that is your calling. But, to find this calling, you cannot just pretend, you have to actively engage in reality.”
Let me introduce you to Lammily… only a few words are needed “the fashion doll with a realistic body shape…”
In fact, Lammily looks like any teenager you may see everywhere, with a day-to-day life, dressed in a normal way with her body combining greatness and imperfections. Reality once more… Her popularity was largely propelled by the concern for “body aspect”.
It took a few months for the creation of the doll, I waited patiently following steps by steps the project progressing and Lammily made her formal entrance in the World on November 19th, 2014. My doll, belonging to the Exclusive First Edition, was received during December last, a few days before Christmas, it was a gift to myself! As a Grandma, I have only grand-sons…
Since then Lammily is now being sold worldwide, she has her own clothes among a new fashion collection and accessories boutique. Lammily team is working on new dolls. A boy doll, dolls of different ethnicities, different hair color and appearance.
To end this blog post, I would like to express my warm thanks to Nikolay for having been so helpful, allowing me writing this post and using some photos from the Lammily’s official website.
All the best to you, Nikolay and to Lammily!
